LET’S NOT SMILE AGAIN

BY NEYMOUS

BACKGROUND TO THE STORY: people who meet each other for the first time and have chemistry  (romantic or platonic) immediately and laugh and laugh and never quarrel… the following poem is the lady speaking.

Let’s not smile again

Let’s not blush at silly things

The other said.

Let’s not say “I love you”

And mean it too

Let’s say no when we don’t want to say yes

Let’s not talk instead of saying “I guess”

Let’s stay true to each other

And others.

So in gray times

We’d still snuggle

And break plates happily.

Let’s be you and i

Let’s watch CSI

Because I want to

And you don’t care to

Let’s not smile again

So our laughter as one

Will last

And forever be the same.
